Farrey's is a fourth-generation family business, established in 1924, which owes its longevity to having always been at the forefront of cutting edge technology and personal service.
1924
Farrey’s was founded by John J. and Emily Farrey in Miami Beach, Florida. It began as a small general store that sold hardware, linens, lights, china, fishing gear and other home products. After the 1926 hurricane , John J. Farrey was appointed chief building inspector of Miami Beach with a mandate to write a building code that would not allow this level of destruction to occur again. That document came to be known as the South Florida Building Code.
1934
Farrey’s moved from their Collins Avenue location to Alton Road and two years later, the wholesale store was built on Washington Avenue.
1950’s
During the housing boom in the 1950’s, the family started focusing the business on lighting and bathroom fixtures. That was also when they moved to a new location on NW 7th Avenue in Miami.
1980
In May 1980, Farrey's inaugurated it's current location in North Miami.
2002
Farrey’s expanded by opening a second showroom in Coconut Grove.
Today
Farrey’s facilities exceed 130,000 square feet of showroom and warehouse space in North Miami and over 32,000 square feet in Coconut Grove. We have stayed true to our mission - to distinguish ourselves as the premier source for unique high quality products and the very best professional service.
